Spider veins are the red or bluish looking squiggly lines that can appear on the face and legs as we age. They get their name from their weblike appearance. Most of the time, spider veins do not result in symptoms other than an undesirable appearance. Although people with extensive spider veins on the legs may have underlying venous issues.
At Kessel Dermatology, we utilize the excel V+™ laser to deliver long wavelengths that allow treatment for vascular issues like spider veins for patients of all skin tones.
How the device works:
- Releases pulses of light energy that are absorbed by the pigment in the blood
- This causes the blood cells within the vein to coagulate
- Then that energy transfers to the vessel walls sealing the vessel.
For most patients, multiple treatments will be necessary and the specifics of your treatment will be determined during your initial consultation with our providers.
