Everyone loves having options in life — they give you the freedom to choose what will be best for you. When it comes to cosmetic injections, you have a lot of options in what treatment to get. And the option pool just grew because there’s a new treatment that we’ve started offering — Sculptra.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that gradually helps replace lost collagen for results that last for over two years. It’s used to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, especially laugh lines and chin wrinkles, and provide you with a youthful, re-volumized facial appearance.

How is Sculptra Different?

Unlike filler treatments, Sculptra Aesthetic is designed to stimulate your natural collagen growth to help re-volumize the aging face over time. And rather than being comprised of hyaluronic acid, Sculptra is made up of Poly-L-lactic acid which is a component of dissolvable suture material.

What To Know Before Getting Sculptra:

  • Stop taking these medications seven days prior to your treatment:
    • Aspirin (If prescribed aspirin, speak to your doctor before stopping it.)
    • Ibuprofen
    • Omega 3 Fatty Acids/Fish Oil
    • Vitamin E
  • If you have a history of cold sores, ask your injection provider about pre-care instructions.

What To Do After Your Treatment:

Live by the “rule of five” — massage your injection area for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. This helps distribute the treatment more evenly and increase its effectiveness. While it may be a bit uncomfortable to do this, it’s necessary. Pro Tip: It’s easiest to massage the area in the shower when your skin is moisturized.
