When you’re looking to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, you’ll find that there are plenty of solutions — one of those being Botox. In order to get the most out of your treatment, you should go in well-prepared, so here’s what you should know before getting Botox.

Botox is not the same as a filler.

Fillers do just what their name implies — they fill wrinkles and the space caused by facial volume loss. Botox affects the muscles around “problem areas” to reduce fine lines and tighten skin.

There are multiple places Botox can be injected.

Most commonly, Botox is injected into crow’s feet around the eyes, glabella creases between your eyes, brow furrows, and worry lines on the forehead. However, it can also be injected along the jawline to visually fight boneless.

Most people are a candidate for Botox.

While people usually think they have to wait until their in they’re 40s to begin getting Botox injections, you can actually start getting injections in your late 20s to early 30s. No matter your age the point of injections is maintenance and to keep your face looking timeless without changing its character.

It lasts for several months.

Once you have your treatment done, you will see the effects in anywhere between one to 10 days. After that, your results will usually last between three to four months, depending on how quickly your body generates new receptors in the muscles.
