Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers services offered in Hamilton Square, Trenton, and Mercer County area, New Jersey

Loss of collagen and facial fat are part of the natural aging process, which usually begins in someone’s 30s. At this point, the skin’s natural supports begin to diminish, producing a gradual loss of definition in the cheeks, eyes, temples, lips, jawline, and forehead. As the skin ages, it begins to lose its youthful elasticity, and this results in the emergence of wrinkles and sagging of the skin. There is a hallowing around the eye sockets along with sunken temples, flattened cheeks, and loose skin around the jawline, better known as jowls. Fine lines appear on the lips and around the nose. Nasolabial folds form around the corners of the nose and mouth and oral commissures develop just beneath the corner of the mouth. The skin appears drier, thinner, and less pliable and vibrant. At Kessel Dermatology, servicing the Hamilton Square, Trenton, and Mercer County areas in New Jersey, we offer a variety of treatments aimed at restoring facial volume and a youthful appearance

  • Augment lips
  • Recontour cheeks and jawline
  • Diminish the look of fine lines around the mouth
  • Improve the look of folds and marionette lines

What areas can be treated?

  • Lips
  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Jawline
  • Temple hollows
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Smoker's lines around the mouth
  • Hands
  • Neck
  • Volume loss sides of face

What are dermal fillers made of?

There are several different main ingredients for dermal fillers. By far the most common is Hyaluronic Acid. The formulation of the specific filler will determine the density, firmness, viscosity and how much water the filler will absorb in order to plump.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The duration varies from product to product and area of the face. Some fillers will last as long as two years. But that doesn't mean the area treated will look perfect the entire time. Those particular fillers will gradual begin to break down after the first year, with some product still remaining at the two year mark.

Areas like the lips and right around the mouth tend to break down faster. Usually around one year.

Am I a candidate for fillers?

Most fillers contain Lidocaine, so if you are allergic to Lidocaine, then you would not be a candidate.

While not a contraindication, patients with autoimmune conditions need to get clearance from their rheumatologist. Sometimes those patients may be prone to inflammatory type reactions post treatment if their autoimmune condition is not well controlled.
