Kessel dermatology is proudly one of the first practices in the region utilizing this advanced injection technique. The microcannula technique, when appropriate, is a novel way of administering dermal fillers using a blunt tipped flexible cannula. A small entry point is made for each area being treated, then the cannula is advanced into the skin and used to precisely deposit filler product. When using a sharp needle instead, each facial area being treated with filler requires multiple needle sticks and puncture sites. This increases the possibility of bruising and also penetrating an underlying blood vessel with the sharp tip of a needle. The microcannula technique is thus safer and more comfortable for patients undergoing treatment with facial fillers.
